Minimum requirements:
• An undergraduate SAQA recognised qualification Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or B. Proc degree
• Admitted as an attorney or an advocate
• Valid driver’s license
Experience
Minimum of 6 years’ post-qualification legal experience of which at least 3 years of experience at a middle level
Previous experience in the position of an attorney, advocate or legal advisor preferred.
Experience in a government entity or corporate preferred.
Experience in providing legal advice on the regulatory frameworks applicable to government entities preferred.
Proven track-record and experience in providing legal advice on a broad-range of matters.
Knowledge
• Knowledge of applicable legal prescripts.
• Proven knowledge of litigation and court procedure.
• Regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
• Policy drafting, application, and review.
• Contract, drafting, negotiation and review.
• Employment/labour law knowledge.
• Property law knowledge.
• Contract law
Key Performance Areas
• Manage litigation on behalf of ADA
• Provision of legal advice and opinions
• Interpretation and application of legislation affecting ADA
• Policy drafting and review
• Contract drafting and contract management
• Monitoring legal compliance
