Project Background:

Mfuyi Investment Holding (Pty) Ltd is a 100% male-owned agricultural enterprise owned by Mr. Bongani Mdletshe, operating on a 400-hectare farm in Emseleni (Ward 9), within the uMkhanyakude District Municipality and uMhlabuyalingana Local Municipality.

The business was funded by the Agribusiness Development Agency during the 2024/25 financial year to establish and expand a goat production enterprise. Through this intervention, the enterprise has made significant progress, particularly in specialised breeding and mass production.

The ADA supported the project by supplying high-quality breeds, including Nguni ewes and rams of the Savanna, Kalahari, Cape Lob Eared, and Boer goat breeds. This has enabled the business to position itself as a specialist breeder, supplying improved livestock genetics to emerging farmers, community members and individual buyers.

While the enterprise is currently supplying at a local level, it is in the process of developing sustainable market linkages. The long-term vision is to penetrate larger value chains and supply commercial markets, thereby scaling operations and increasing economic impact within the region.
